The U.S. Grains Council announced U.S. ethanol exports set a record in marketing year 2023/2024, totaling to 1.75 billion gallons exported, using 619 million bushels of corn. This is 43% higher than the previous market year and surpasses the former record of 1.6 billion gallons of ethanol exported in 2018.
Canada led the demand, importing 655 million gallons, followed by the United Kingdom at 227 million gallons, India at 171 million gallons, Columbia with 123 million gallons, and the Netherlands at 97 million gallons.
The total gallons exported does not include 140.5 million gallons shipped in the form of Ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE) to Japan. When you add in this additional share, the total of U.S. ethanol export rises to 1.886 billion gallons in 2023/2024.
