Time to Show Your 4-H Colours – National Celebration Across Canada!

Oct 20, 2021

Ottawa, ON – 4-H is celebrating Show Your 4-H Colours this November 3, as part of 4-H Month, with youth members, volunteer leaders, alumni, and supporters showing their pride in being part of this 108-year-old community.

This annual celebration is an opportunity for the 4-H community to wear their 4-H green and come together to showcase the positive impacts the 4-H program is making in Canada and abroad.

Together with our national Show Your 4-H Colours partner, BASF Agricultural Solutions Canada, we encourage you to join the fun and come together to spread awareness and support the great things 4-H’ers are doing in their communities, country, and around the world.

One way 4-H’ers will celebrate now and throughout the month of November is with a limited-edition fundraising t-shirt available on the 4-H Canada Store. Sales of the “Inspired to Lead” t-shirt raise important funds to support the 4-H movement. $4 from the sale of each t-shirt will go directly to 4-H provincial organizations to provide meaningful opportunities for youth across Canada with all remaining proceeds going to the 4-H Foundation. As 4-H Canada’s Community Engagement & Communications Pillar partner, BASF has stepped up to demonstrate their commitment to mobilizing Canadians to wear green, celebrate, and give back to 4-H, through the purchase of over 600 Show Your 4-H Colours limited-edition t-shirts which will help to further support provincial 4-H organizations across the country.

Canadians will also see twenty-five landmarks lit up in iconic 4-H green on November 3, to commemorate Show Your 4-H Colours Day. Landmarks across the country participating include, but are not limited to, the CN Tower (Toronto), Calgary Tower (Calgary), Canada Place Sails of Light (Vancouver), and Halifax City Hall (Halifax).

“Show Your 4-H Colours is our annual celebration of 4-H in Canada, and we’re proud to work with BASF as both a generous partner, and as participants who show their 4-H pride along with all of our members, volunteers, and alumni,” said Shannon Benner, 4-H Canada Chief Executive Officer. “Collectively we’re working towards awareness and a groundswell of support for the amazing opportunities we give youth members each year.”

“We couldn’t be prouder to support 4-H Canada and celebrate the community-building spirit 4-H fosters among youth and adults—a sentiment that is shared across the agriculture industry,” said Jonathan Sweat, Vice President, BASF Agricultural Solutions Canada. “On November 3, we’ll wear our 4-H Colours t-shirts with pride as we join supporters from across the country in honouring the contributions 4-H’ers make every day of the year.”
