Today the federal and provincial governments highlighted investments in value-added agricultural processing through the Saskatchewan Lean Improvements in Manufacturing (SLIM) program.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale, on behalf of Federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Lawrence MacAulay, and Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Gene Makowsky, on behalf of Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart, today announced $330,000 in SLIM funding for Rebellion Brewing. The project will expand the brewing capacity of Rebellion Brewing and add exterior grain storage, as well as a canning system.

The Ministers also announced a $500,000 infrastructure investment to support production and equipment upgrades at AGT Food and Ingredients in Regina, another successful applicant to the SLIM program. The project includes improvements to its polishing, bagging and conveyer system to increase productivity at their Regina facility.
