The Michigan State University Extension field crops team is excited to continue our annual tradition of hosting an early-winter crop and pest management update. For the past 24 years, our team has provided timely updates to field crop consultants, agribusiness professionals and farmers for the upcoming year. Join us for the 25th annual Integrated Crop and Pest Management Update on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Due to popular demand, this event will be offered as a hybrid event since we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees. Registrants can attend the in-person event at the MSU Livestock Pavilion or virtually via Zoom.

The 2023 Integrated Crop and Pest Management Update includes a packed program designed to cover a range of topics to help plan for the 2024 production year and is provided just in time to determine year-end bulk purchasing decisions. Attendees will gain insights on crop and pest management recommendations, receive the latest updates in on-farm research data and have their choice of breakout sessions, which cover crucial topics such as marketing and input strategies, farm bill policies, conservation practices, drainage and irrigation. The program will also feature updates on Michigan check-off programs from the Michigan Soybean CommitteeMichigan Wheat Program and Michigan Corn. More details of the program can be found on the registration page.

Participants can not only gain a wealth of knowledge but also earn credits. The program offers 5.5 continuing education units (CEUs) for certified crop advisors and five pesticide recertification (RUP) credits. For those involved in the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP), a Phase I credit is also available.

Information from this meeting will be relevant to agribusiness representatives, retail sales and service professionals, private crop consultants, farmers and representatives of agriculture-related agencies alike. Out-of-state participants are also invited to attend.

Pre-registration is open until Dec. 10 for the in-person meeting or Dec. 14 for the virtual event. Both registration types include MSU Extension's 2024 Weed Control Guide for Field Crops. Cost for the in-person meeting is $65 per person when pre-registering or $80 per person when registering onsite. Cost for the virtual event is $35 per person. Registrants for the virtual option will receive information on how to join via Zoom.
