Sharing our love of pork this summer

June is Pork Month!

Alberta Pork has partnered with Freson Bros., Sunterra Market and Federated Co-op to build excitement and raise awareness of the pork industry, which supports food security, jobs and culinary excellence in so many communities across the province.

We want to inspire home cooks, backyard BBQers and meat enthusiasts, while honouring those who make it all possible: our farmers, processors and retailers.

In June, we will help promote a variety of contests for Albertans of all walks of life, while also spreading the good news about the efforts of everyone who has a hand in making Alberta pork what it is: affordable, delicious and nutritious!

Hog farmers are asking Albertans to help celebrate all things pork in June. You can take part by sharing your favourite pork dishes and farming experiences with us on social media. Amplify your posts by ‘liking’ Alberta Pork and Passion for Pork on Facebook and by ‘following’ Alberta Pork and Passion for Pork on Twitter.

Don’t forget to tag @albertapork and @PassionForPork in your posts and use the hashtag #JuneIsPorkMonth to make sure we see it, then ‘like’ and ‘share’ it ourselves.

If you don’t have Facebook or Twitter yourself but still want to participate, simply email a photo of your favourite pork dish to info@albertapork.com, along with a description of what it is, how to prepare it and why you love it. Then, with your permission, we’ll share it with our fans on your behalf.
