Saskatchewan farm groups are disappointed with this week’s federal budget.
The president of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers, Levi Wood, said the budget offers very little for the grain community, which generates over 30-billion-dollars in economic growth.
“I think this is something that needs to be addressed across the whole country,” Wood said.
“I really would like to see the federal government put more emphasis on coming up with more of a comprehensive strategy for agriculture, and for how we conquer some of the challenges that agriculture faces,” Wood said.
Wood suggests Ottawa should remove trade barriers and ensure farmers can move their products to market.
