Recent Snow In Southern Saskatchewan Sets Farmers Back

Apr 25, 2017

The president of APAS says this week’s snow is not welcome in rural Saskatchewan.

Todd Lewis says his farm southeast of Regina has received two to four inches of wet snow.

He says the moisture will disrupt efforts to wrap up harvest from last year and delay spring seeding.

“This is going to set us back a week,” said Lewis. “WE use May 1st as kind of a general starting point. I think it’s going to be hard to imagine air-seeders going by on the first-of-May this year.”
