Autonomous Manure Spreading Coming in 2026

PTx Trimble recently unveiled a new offering through its autonomous platform, OutRun.

In 2024 PTx Trimble released OutRun as an autonomous grain cart solution. Since then, the system has been expanded to offer autonomous tillage in 2025 and autonomous manure spreading in 2026.

This technology allows farmers to install autonomous capabilities on tractors that are up to 10 years old, improving efficiency and reducing labor dependency.

Currently, OutRun is compatible with John Deere A8R tractors and Fendt 900 tractors.

The expansion into tillage, and eventually manure spreading, makes this product a comprehensive solution for those interested in autonomy.

One of the biggest challenges farmers face is finding skilled labor during critical seasons like harvest, planting, or tillage. Filling that labor gap is essential, and technology can play a role in the solution.

Farmers invest heavily in equipment and inputs to maximize production, but unexpected delays can impact optimal field activities and reduce yields.

By implementing an autonomous system for harvest, tillage, and manure spreading, farmers can reduce processing time, secure higher yields, and optimize their operations for long-term sustainability.
