Protect Field and Finances with Co-op Private Label

Mar 31, 2015
Quality crop protection is now available at competitive pricing thanks to a new Co-op private-label product. Vector 540 is a new glyphosate product that controls annual and perennial broadleaf and grass weeds.

“With the challenging marketplace growers face today, we wanted to ensure that our members had a cost-effective alternative glyphosate they could access in a concentration that they are most comfortable with,” said Ron Healey, Associate Vice-President of Ag & Home at Federated Co-operatives Limited.

Vector 540 is a non-selective herbicide, which is registered for use in pre-seed, chemfallow, pre-harvest and post-harvest applications, as well as with Roundup Ready® crop varieties, such as canola, soybeans and corn. Vector continues to be available in a 480 gram-per-litre formulation.

Not only does the Vector portfolio save producers on the cost of traditional glyphosate products, Co-op members may earn cash back and equity as a result of their purchase. Co-op Agro Centres offer a full range of products and services, which may include fertilizer, seed, seed treatment, crop protection, ag equipment and petroleum sales. Feed and animal products are also available at select locations.

“Your local Co-op AG Team will provide the agronomic information to help you select the right products for your farming operation,” said Healey.

Vector products are produced here in Western Canada by Interprovincial Cooperative Limited (IPCO) at its Winnipeg chemical formulation facility. IPCO is owned by members such as Federated Co-operatives Limited – which in turn is owned by 210 local retail co-operatives.
