3. Bearish news on the trade horizon: China canceled several grain shipments in early March. Not a big surprise to the market, but still unwelcome news as corn and soybeans trundle along in the doldrums, just about the time early-riser market watchers are getting used to the clock change.
4. Weather cooling: Many areas saw scattered showers March 7 through the weekend. We'll see a chance for more of the same this week. Conditions will remain unseasonably warm until late in the week, when colder air from Canada pushes in. That will put the brakes on soil temperature increases through March 20, and DTN weather forecasters see the potential for another cold snap in early April.
