A world leader in the agriculture industry will also be a world-leading supporter of the
sport of curling, it was announced today.
Pioneer Hi-Bred will be the title sponsor for the World Men’s Curling Championship.
The 2019 Pioneer Hi-Bred World Men’s Curling Championship, presented by Service
Experts, is scheduled for March 30-April 7 at the ENMAX Centre in Lethbridge, Alta.
Pioneer Hi-Bred seeks to increase farmer productivity and profitability, and to develop
sustainable agricultural systems for people everywhere. Increasing populations, changing
economies, and limited cultivatable land are significant factors driving Pioneer Hi-Bred to
use the broad application of plant science to improve the value generated from each
farmer’s field.
“We are passionate about serving rural communities across Canada by providing
innovative solutions and supporting quality of life initiatives. Curling is a deeply ingrained
part of life on the prairies, and the sport provides opportunities for people to connect and
spend meaningful time together,” says Bryce Eger, president for Canada at Corteva
Agriscience™. “We are pleased to contribute to the growth of Canada’s curling community
through sponsoring the World Men’s Curling Championship, an event with a rich and
meaningful history.”
“This is a wonderful partnership that continues to be a natural fit for both Curling Canada
and Pioneer Hi-Bred, which has been a Curling Canada Season of Champions partner for
many years now,” said Katherine Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada.
“Obviously many curling fans are involved in the agriculture industry across our amazing
country. Additionally, the Pioneer Hi-Bred World Men’s Championship will be televised
around the world, which is a valuable opportunity to showcase the company’s
commitment to keeping people healthy. I couldn’t be more pleased to see Pioneer Hi-Bred
continue to be a part of the Curling Canada team with this high-profile title sponsorship
position.”
