Paterson Global Foods (PGF) announced Thursday the construction of an oat processing facility in northwest Winnipeg.
The facility will be located adjacent to the company's existing inland grain terminal and will be situated on Manitoba’s largest private rail siding.
“Paterson’s new oat mill will allow PGF to continue to diversify its commodity business with value added products for the benefit of consumers and farmers alike,” said Andrew Paterson, PGF’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
The new oat mill to be known as O Foods Ltd. and when completed, will annually process up to 250,000 metric tonnes of raw oats from western Canadian farmers.
The facility will produce a full range of high health oat products for the world market.
