John Deere Grows Flexible Tillage Solutions

New high speed disk sizes and autonomy ready tools support farm efficiency

John Deere has announced a series of model year 2027 tillage updates designed to give farmers more flexibility across different field conditions, operation sizes, and timelines. The expanded tillage portfolio focuses on improving productivity, managing residue, and reducing the number of field passes. 

“The new expanded John Deere tillage portfolio reflects what we continue to hear from farmers — the need for tools that fit their operation, acres and timeline,” said Michael Porter, John Deere’s marketing manager for tillage equipment. “From new sizes to expanded autonomy ready options, these updates provide customers with more ways to complete critical fieldwork efficiently during tight post-harvest and pre-planting seasons.” 

A major update includes the introduction of two new sections of High Speed Disk models. These new models are available in 15, 19, 22, and 25-foot widths. They are designed to offer the same dual season performance and residue management as larger models while better fitting smaller acreages transport limits and varying tractor sizes. These tools help farmers maintain strong field finishes while covering more acres efficiently. 

The new two section High Speed Disk models are autonomy ready from the factory and feature durable frame designs with improved residue flow. This allows operators to work efficiently without sacrificing performance or reliability during busy seasons. 

John Deere is also expanding its autonomy ready tillage options. Autonomy ready capability is now available on the 2730 combination ripper and the 64’ and 69’ models of the 2230 field cultivator. These tools are designed to work with autonomous ready tractors helping farmers prepare for future field operations while maintaining trusted agronomic results. 

Farmers who own 2016 or newer 2730 combination rippers can upgrade their machines using John Deere Precision Upgrade kits. These kits provide a cost-effective way to add autonomy-ready features. Upgrade kits for rippers will be available starting in summer 2026 while field cultivator kits are already available. 

In addition to equipment updates John Deere has aligned its applicator lineup by updating the naming of its DA Series Applicators formerly known as the 2510H. While the name has changed, the performance remains the same.
