Agriculture Month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the agriculture industry and the dedicated individuals involved in producing our food.
Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan's Executive Director Clinton Monchuk says the disconnect between those who consume Canadian food and those who grow it - is widening.
"We can see this every five years when they do the census. We see a larger migration into urban settings. We see fewer farms, fewer farmers, and we see a larger responsibility for farms to adapt new technologies to produce high quality, abundant, safe food."
The Farm and Food Care team has developed a national online engagement strategy called "Canadian Food Focus" to reach those who are curious about food and how it's grown.
