Corn Growers Help Shape Future of Drone Tech in Agriculture

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) has stepped forward as a key sponsor of a new farmer-driven research study exploring the use of drones in agriculture.

Led by Stratovation Group, the study includes sponsors SweetWater Technologies and Agri Spray Drones and partners like the Agricultural Retailers Association and The Fertilizer Institute.

The initiative will investigate how farmers perceive, adopt, and utilize drone technology on their farms while identifying key barriers to its adoption. With NCGA now on board, corn producers will play a central role in shaping recommendations for drone integration.

“Corn farmers are at the forefront of determining the value of new technologies, and drones are a great example of that,” said Russell Williams, chair of NCGA’s Production and Sustainability Action Team. “NCGA is proud to sponsor the survey, which will inform future use, marketing, and policy directions that will benefit agriculture.”

This collaborative effort brings together a diverse group of ag tech stakeholders—technology providers, service innovators, and farmer organizations—making it both practical and forward-looking.

The research will include feedback from a wide variety of growers across the U.S. Sponsors will receive exclusive access to detailed data, helping guide product improvements and policy initiatives.

Cam Camfield, CEO of Stratovation Group, highlighted the importance of NCGA’s involvement, saying, “When major national organizations like NCGA step up, it signals that drone innovation is poised to make major inroads.”

More sponsors are being invited to participate in this important research. Interested parties can reach out to Cam@StratovationGroup.com for more details.
