Mid-Year Tractor & Combine Sales — U.S. & Canada

In the U.S., utility tractors (40-<100 horsepower) had the lowest decline at down 8.9% vs. the first half of 2024. Combines have had the largest decline in unit sales for the first 6 months of the year at –43%.

In Canada, compact tractors (<40 horsepower) had the largest year-over-year growth in unit sales at +3.4%. Combines also showed the largest decline in unit sales in Canada at down 5.2%. Total tractor sales are down 10.9% year-over-year in the U.S. for the first 6 months. At this time last year, total tractor sales in the U.S. were down 11.5% year-over-year. In Canada, total tractor unit sales are up 1.6% compared to down 7.1% year-over-year at the halfway point last year.

For the first half of the year, unit sales were up for compact, utility and 4WD tractors. 100+ horsepower tractors and combines were the only 2 categories to show sales declines at the mid-way point. 4WD tractors hit a 5-year high at 601 units, well above the previous 5-year high of 490 from 2021.
