ManSEA Annual Conference coming To Portage la Prairie In April

The Manitoba Sustainable Energy Association (ManSEA) is hosting its annual Sustainable Energy Conference on April 6, 2022, at the William Glesby Centre in Portage La Prairie. This year theme is “On the Road to Net-Zero by 2050”.

The mission of ManSEA is to promote the sustainable development of Manitoba’s renewable energy resources. The ManSEA 2022 Conference will focus attention on strategies for using sustainable energy to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs as carbon taxes make fossil fuels increasingly expensive.

Some of the confirmed presenters for the conference include:

Curt Hull, P.Eng. has a consulting practice in sustainability and is Project Director of Climate Change Connection in Winnipeg. His topic will be “Renewable energy’s role in the road to resilience”

Dr. Eric L. Bibeau, P.Eng., Associate Professor at University of Manitoba Faculty of Engineering, “Role of on-site energy storage options in achieving resilience.”

Randy Webber will speak about his personal experience with building and living in a passive home.

Doug Barker will speak about his experience installing and operating an on-grid solar system at his home near Kleefeld, Manitoba.

Michael Stocki, Vice-president, Efficiency Programs, at Efficiency Manitoba will present details of their latest programs to encourage and support the adoption of sustainable energy sources throughout Manitoba.

Conference Registration prior to March 28, 2022, is $45 for ManSEA members ($60 for non-members) and includes lunch and all the sessions. Late registration will be $50 for members and $60 for non-members. Members can renew their memberships and register for the conference at the same.
