Lyle Stewart will remain Agriculture Minister

Feb 06, 2018

Premier Scott Moe officially set up his inner cabinet on Friday and retained Lyle Stewart as Agriculture Minister.

Stewart says he has a great working relationship with the new Premier and says if anyone has a clear understanding of the damage a Carbon Tax would do to the Province it’s Premier Moe.

"We are a province that relies more than anybody else on exports around the world," he said. "Our main competitors will not be paying a carbon tax, so our competitor's cost of production with a carbon tax will be lower than others, making us uncompetitive in a lot of markets. That's why Saskatchewan is not going to be having a carbon tax, and that's why Scott Moe as much as anybody else in the province is on that page where we will fight this thing hard."

Stewart says he has a great working relationship and friendship with our new Premier.

"I think Scott Moe is a very level-headed sensible person; I expect that we will see issues dealt with in that manner to with plenty of forethought, and discussing," he said. "I'm quite thrilled to work with Scott Moe as our premier, and I'm very happy to be back."
