NORTH GRENVILLE, ON – The Kemptville Campus Board of Directors is pleased to support the recent announcement of a new site for Académie catholique Notre-Dame (ACND) on the Kemptville Campus lands, which are owned by the Municipality of North Grenville.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish to congratulate the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) on the land purchase and plans for a new school,” said Board Chair Brian McKee. “Académie catholique Notre-Dame (ACND) has been a long-standing tenant at the Kemptville Campus and we look forward to working with CECCE as they transition from tenant to neighbour.”
“We are pleased that this land acquisition and new building will ensure the long-standing presence of ACND in our community,” added Executive Director Liz Sutherland. “We look forward to seeing ACND students and staff continue to enjoy the Campus amenities and we are eager to recruit new tenants for the buildings they will vacate.”
The Campus Board and staff played an active role in advising the Municipality of North Grenville on the site selection to ensure it would have the lowest impact on Campus operations. The ACND move will open up three buildings on campus for other tenants in 2027 when the CECCE leases end. Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to realizing the full potential of our extraordinary, historic, publicly owned campus, offering a welcoming and sustainable working, learning and recreational environment for people from all regions of Eastern Ontario.
The campus covers almost 630 acres of land, including forests, wetlands, trails, farmland, and a “village” of buildings, soccer fields, and other recreational facilities. It is home to two dozen organizations including 3 schools, 3 daycares, a sugar bush, beehives, greenhouses, a community garden, and a catering business. The campus was acquired by the Municipality of North Grenville in 2018, a purchase facilitated by an agreement with the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) for a seven-acre parcel of campus property for l’Ecole élémentaire et secondaire publique Riviere Rideau.
