Award Highlights Senator Britt's Advocacy for Agriculture
The American Farm Bureau Federation and the Alabama Farmers Federation awarded Senator Katie Britt with the Outstanding New Member of Congress Award, celebrating her impactful contributions to agriculture in her first congressional term.
AFBF President Zippy Duvall expressed his honor in presenting the award, highlighting the necessity of Britt's leadership in tackling agricultural challenges. "Her leadership is needed to help address the challenges facing America’s farmers and ranchers," Duvall remarked.
Since her election in 2022, Senator Britt has championed the needs of farmers, advocating for sensible environmental regulations and labor reform, and promoting agriculture as a career choice for youth. Her legislative efforts include co-sponsoring a bill to repeal the estate tax, facilitating the transfer of farms to the next generation.
"With increasing uncertainty in farming caused by high supply prices and the lack of a new, modernized farm bill, we need lawmakers like Senator Britt to continue working to create opportunities for America’s farmers and ranchers," Duvall stated.
