Keystone Agricultural Producers President Dan Mazier made a presentation to the Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications earlier this week in Ottawa.
The topic being discussed was Bill C-49, the Transportation Modernization Act.
Mazier said the bill is a large one that affects many different industries, however he expects the Senate will listen to some of the recommendations being made by the agriculture sector.
He explained how long this current process could take.
"Probably another three to four weeks, I think, of listening to testimonies and then they'll put it back to the House to figure out whether it's going to pass or pass with amendments and then back and forth."
