The Keystone Agricultural Producers are holding their Annual General Meeting in Winnipeg.
About 180 producers from around the province are expected to attend this year's event as the grassroots organization celebrates 40 years.
President Jill Verwey says it's also exciting because they changed up the process and on the first day of the conference they have some world class speakers coming in to talk about issues.
This year's event includes a number of panel discussions including an industry panel and Senator Rob Black will be taking part in the View from the Hill Panel.
Also on the agenda is an Agriculture Matters panel talking about the opportunities for collaboration, the future of ag and bringing the public along, and developing products that serve our customers.
The two-day event also includes a Succession Planning and a Risk Management Panel.
Verwey says it's been a busy year for the organization adding that one of the highlights has been the work they've been doing on developing a strategic plan - looking at what's relevant and how to tackle those issues over the next five years.
With this being the 40th Anniversary they'll hear from some past presidents of the organization and tonight they'll have a big celebration and a banquet to celebrate.
Tomorrow is another busy day on the agenda as they start moving through some business issues including several resolutions that have come forward from members.
The weather has been on everyone's mind going from a very good fall that gave producers a lot of opportunities to finish up some of that fall work to now thinking about moisture heading into the Spring.
She says it's on a lot of farmers' minds as to what's going to come in the next year, but certainly that tightening of margins and costs that farmers are paying are certainly on their minds as they sit down now to do budgets for this year.
KAP's members will be voting this year on the two vice presidents with nominations for those positions coming from the floor.
The Keystone Agricultural Producers wrap up their A-G-M on Wednesday.
