CALGARY, AB – Today, Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, announced that Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has approved Tridem™, Avenza™ and Rezuvant™ herbicides for use in Canada. These three-new cross-spectrum solutions are the latest in the Corteva Agriscience industry-leading cereal herbicide portfolio designed to address challenges facing Western Canadian farmers. These new products will be available in both case and bulk pallet pack sizes, at select retail locations across Western Canada for spring 2019.
“Wheat and barley are important crops to farmers across Western Canada. Getting powerful control of annual and perennial weeds, with rotational freedom to common regional crops, is critical,” explains Mark Alberts, Cereal Herbicides Product Manager with Corteva Agriscience. “We are excited that Tridem, Avenza and Rezuvant will now be available as new tools for farmers as they continue the battle against tough weeds.”
Tridem and Avenza are engineered for the brown soil zones. Each contain a new broadleaf weed control solution providing control of kochia (Group 2 and Group 9 resistant), narrow-leaved hawks beard, wild buckwheat, and perennial weeds such as Canada thistle. For grass weed control, Tridem contains a Group 2 mode-of-action solution for wheat, and Avenza contains a group Group 1 solution for barley.
Rezuvant is for barley and is built for black soil zone regions, complementing Rexade™ for wheat, a complete cross-spectrum solution, fully introduced by Corteva Agriscience in 2018. It combines an outstanding Group 4 annual broadleaf weed control solution with a premium Group 1 grass herbicide. Rezuvant contains Arylex™ active, providing application and staging flexibility to farmers.
