Sessions to Highlight Ag Land Market and Legal Trends

Agricultural land transactions are a crucial aspect of the ag industry, influenced by both market and legal factors. This year, the Mid-South and Western regions will be highlighted at two significant agricultural law conferences.

Organized by the National Agricultural Law Center and the NASDA Foundation, these conferences will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on ag land markets. Dave Muth and Quinn Kendrick from Peoples Company will lead important sessions tailored to regional specifics.

Their presentations will focus on current trends and legal challenges in agricultural land transactions. "Ag land investments and collateralization are big part of the picture in the current environment," remarks Harrison Pittman, Director of the NALC.

Attendees will explore topics such as the implications of ecosystem services licensing, corporate and foreign ownership restrictions, and key financial and legal challenges like liability limitations and asset distress.

The online "Early Bird" session for the Mid-South conference is scheduled for May 14, followed by the main event in June in Memphis, Tennessee. The Western conference will convene in Reno, Nevada, in June, offering both in-person and livestream options.

Both conferences aim to arm attorneys, lenders, producers, and other stakeholders with essential insights to navigate the complex landscape of agricultural land transactions.
