Hands Free Hectare: what was achieved, what was learned and what are the implications? |
In Dublin this March, the award winning project, Hands Free Hectare (HFH), will be presented by the Project Lead Kit Franklin. HFH, an Innovate UK backed project, set out to achieve a world first: Using automated machines to grow the first arable crop remotely, without operators in the driving seats or agronomists on the ground, from planting to harvesting the barley crop. After a successful year, running a fully automated farm, Kit will be discussing the implications of what has been achieved and how they’ve honed and improved the project to create a second successful harvest. The Hands Free Hectare showcases the potential of Precision Farming; don’t miss Kit Franklin as he shares his insights into the future of farming. |
