Farmers Can Win Big for Their Communities Again in 2025
Nutrien Ag Solutions has launched the second edition of its Hometown Yield Challenge, continuing its support for rural communities across Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The program invites farmers to enroll until April 11, 2025, by coordinating with a local Nutrien Ag Solutions Crop Consultant. Each participant will also nominate a community organization they wish to support.
At the end of the growing season, the two farms with the highest yields will win $20,000 for their chosen community organizations. In addition, the three runner-up farms will each secure $5,000 for the groups they selected. These donations aim to enhance local facilities and initiatives, as seen last year with projects like school lunch programs, playground upgrades, and community hall improvements.
“We were extremely pleased with the results from our first Hometown Yield Challenge in 2024. Supporting rural Canadian communities is something that our team and farmers are very passionate about, so getting to do this challenge again is something we’re looking forward to for the 2025 season,” said Jesse Hamonic, Vice President & Country Head of Nutrien Ag Solutions Canada. “Last year, we got to put money towards some great community projects, such as school lunch programs, playground refurbishment, and community center funds. I’m excited to see the projects that our growers choose this year.”
The 2025 challenge builds on the success of its debut in 2024, which saw over $50,000 donated across Western Canada. According to Nutrien’s Canadian head, the initiative reflects the shared passion of the company and its growers for giving back to rural areas.
