Farm Show Embraces Technology: Cows Can Milk Themselves and Tweets from Fresh Air Farmers

Feb 25, 2015

London, Ontario -  As part of the London Farm Show’s Expert Speaker Program attendees can take part in an interactive discussion with Andrew Campbell, a farmer with a passion for agriculture advocacy, social media and new technology.  You may have heard of Andrew already as he makes the media rounds talking about his 2015 project to take a picture a day from his farm, which he posts on Twitter as the @FreshAirFarmer. As a farmer, Andrew runs Bellson Farms, where he and his family milk Holsteins and grow a variety of cash crops in Middlesex County. He is also the owner operator of a communication’s company called Fresh Air Media, which he uses to speak to and work with companies and organizations across Canada.  Andrew is passionate about harnessing the power of today’s communication tools to inform consumers about agriculture and educate the general public on what farmers do each day. You can find him at the London Farm Show, Wednesday, March 4 at 11:00 am, National Bank Speaker Stage and on RealAgriculture.com and DinnerStartsHere.ca.

The Farm Show’s latest highlight, the Dairy Pavilion, a 10,000 square foot display space, focuses on the industry’s latest exhibitors, products and technologies. State-of-the-art robotics is a highlight of the pavilion and provides a modern dairy technology display for visitors.  Those interested can check out computerized displays, and milking apparatus that will be the new world for dairy farmers where cows can be fed and milked without the help of human labour.

The annual London Farm Show continues to expand and emphasize agricultural technology, education and farm improvement and welcomes attendees to explore over 360 exhibitors and hundreds of products/services, and hands-on equipment demonstrations in preparation for the 2015 Ontario farming season.
