Farm Groups To Meet With Federal Transport Minister In Saskatoon

Oct 20, 2016

More than a dozen groups representing farmers are to meet in Saskatoon Thursday with federal Transport Minister Marc Garneau to talk about moving grain by rail.

Farmers are worried about a repeat of a rail bottleneck that occurred in 2013-’14, which was the largest crop on record.

Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart says there is concern about how rail companies will keep up, especially if this winter is colder than normal.
