Egg Farmers of Alberta (EFA) recently announced a strategic partnership with THRIVE, to help bridge the gap between investment in research and development, and industry return on investment. A key component of EFA’s sustainability strategy for the provincial egg industry is supporting circular-economy practices on Alberta egg farms, to capture value for the more than 170 egg farming families and Hutterite colonies EFA represents.
THRIVE is one of the largest agtech innovation ecosystems in the world, connecting partner organizations with innovators, startups, corporations and experts, to bring solution providers together to generate key insights on the future of food and agriculture. This new partnership will leverage EFA’s access to R&D results with THRIVE’s commercialization platform to develop novel solutions to help advance the Alberta egg industry.
EFA will also benefit by engaging with its global network, facilitating access to key organizations and people, being visible to the global agrifood innovation ecosystem, accessing key insights on emerging industry trends, and leveraging THRIVE as a strategic partner to help identify new venture opportunities. Of critical importance to EFA is the potential to utilize previous partnerships and past outcomes from research initiatives EFA invested in, to add value to eggs and Alberta egg farmers, by driving innovation and new venture development.
