As colder weather approaches, now is a good time for producers to do ventilation inspection and maintenance on their livestock buildings.

Maintaining good ventilation in buildings helps keep animals healthy and performing well, as well as protecting the buildings themselves, Iowa State University Extension ag engineer Kris Kohl says.

“That will rot the buildings if we have high moisture in our buildings,” he says. “Also, diseases will last in the air a lot longer.”
