Cereals Canada Expands Harvest Assessment Program to Eastern Wheat

Sep 26, 2025

For the first time, Cereals Canada will include both Western and Eastern wheat classes in its annual Harvest Assessment Program, thanks to a new partnership with Grain Farmers of Ontario.

The expanded effort marks a significant step in providing a comprehensive, national view of Canadian wheat quality, said a Cereals Canada release on Thursday.

Winnipeg-based Cereals Canada has long been recognized as the independent global authority on Western Canadian wheat quality, processing, and milling technology. By incorporating Eastern Canadian wheat, the program aims to strengthen Canada’s reputation as a premier wheat supplier worldwide, the release added.

“Cereals Canada is the trusted source for quality information on Western Canadian wheat, and our technical experts understand the data needed to support our domestic and global markets,” said Dean Dias, chief executive officer at Cereals Canada. “Our partnership with Grain Farmers of Ontario brings that same level of expertise to Eastern Canadian wheat. This united, comprehensive approach will help to strengthen Canada’s global position as a premier wheat supplier.”
