Cattle prices in Saskatchewan have seen a major rally this year and the issue will be a key topic at the Saskatchewan Stock Growers meeting, which opens Monday in Moose Jaw.
Market analyst Anne Wasko of Cattle Trends says cattle prices have jumped 50 percent this year, reflecting strong demand for high quality beef
“A lot of it is because demand is very strong,” Wasko said. “But then, supplies have been smaller because cattle feeders have made cattle smaller this year – as far as carcass weights are concerned.”
