Canadian Western Agribition CEO Chris Lane say they didn't want to miss the opportunity to create something new to help support the industry and support the people who come to Agribition.
"We came up with I would say about a dozen different programs that we're pretty proud of. And that we think help our exhibitors and help the industry work through and do the business they need to do, despite the fact that COVID-19 has managed to change almost everything in the agriculture show landscape this year."
Lane says one of the new events this year is the new Evolution Series - a virtual purebred beef show.
"We'll have 11 different breed shows all producing champions which will then compete for Virtual Supreme. So, that's pretty exciting. We are proud of the fact that will be the largest and most diverse virtual cattle competition in the country this year. I think really it goes back to the idea of being able to provide a platform for exhibitors with the Agribition brand attached to it and hopefully get that kind of marketing in front of international and domestic buyers."
Producers can register now for the Evolution Series at Agribition.com, entries will close October 22nd.
Agribition is also rolling out a virtual competition for youth; the Agribition Junior Spotlight as well as a virtual Junior Judging Competition.
The Agribition Virtual Yards will allow exhibitors to digitally showcase their operation, breeding program and upcoming sales.
The Supreme Showdown is a bracket style competition held online and will feature every Beef Supreme Champion ever slapped at Agribition. Champion Bulls and Females will advance through votes until one Supreme Winner is crowned.
On November 28th it's the Agribition Commercial Cattle Exhibitor Sale at Johnstone's Auction Mart at Moose Jaw. Entries are now open for existing and past CWA commercial exhibitors. The sale will be broadcast online through DLMS.
For Rodeo Fans, there's a Rodeo 101 video series that explains the sport, rules and animal care. Maple Leaf Finals Rodeo TV is a limited series with a behind the scenes look at Agribition rodeos and others across the country featuring contestant interviews and rodeo highlights.
There's also a Virtual Education Program, the Agribition Connect Exhibitor Showcase, and the Agribition All Stars salute to volunteers.
Organizers are also looking for Agribition's Top 50 in Canadian Ag. A coast-to-coast campaign to find and celebrate the 50 most influential people in Canadian Agriculture.
