Canadian Foodgrains Still Waiting To Finish Harvest

Oct 14, 2016

Harvest is still progressing on a number of growing projects for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank -- a Christian response to hunger.

Rick Block, the Foodgrains Bank's new regional representative for Saskatchewan, says of the 31 growing projects this year in Saskatchewan, about half have been harvested, and some of the crops have been sold. Block said, “ I was talking with a number of folks, actually more out in the East Central and the North East, where there might be canola still standing. Some of it's been swathed and is sitting right now under some snow, but were obviously hoping for some sun and drier weather in the coming weeks.”

The proceeds from the grains harvested from these growing projects go directly to help end global hunger.
