Call for Entries: Ag Innovations Competition Showcases the Future of Agriculture

Do you have a groundbreaking innovation that can meet the evolving needs for farm operations or market needs? The Ag Innovations Competition is now accepting entries for its upcoming competition, calling on industry leaders to share their latest advancements that will help farmers.

Held as part of the Agri-Trade in Red Deer, Alberta from November 5–7, 2025, this competition highlights the most innovative products, services, and technologies shaping the future of agriculture in Canada and beyond. This year’s competition will be held on November 6, 2025.

"This competition celebrates the spirit of innovation that drives agriculture forward," said Craig Shaw, Chair of the Ag Innovations Committee. "Each year, we’re inspired by the creativity and practical solutions that emerge from across the industry—from startups to seasoned professionals. We encourage anyone with a game-changing idea to take part and help shape the future of farming."

Five finalists will be chosen by the committee in early fall then they will come together to compete for $25,000 in cash prizes.

Finalists will receive:

  • On-site exposure at Agri-Trade 2025 in front of thousands of industry professionals
  • Social media coverage and promotional opportunities
  • Recognition from a panel of expert judges representing agriculture, business, and innovation sectors
  • Opportunity to win $20,000 grand prize and/or $5,000 Farmer’s Choice Award

Entries will be evaluated based on originality, impact, practicality, and scalability. Previous winners have gone on to secure commercial deals, funding, and national recognition.
