Bumper crop in Saskatchewan expected to put pressure on the railways

Jun 22, 2016
Saskatchewan’s general farm group is putting the railways on notice.

Norm Hall is the president of the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan.

He says the railways were poorly prepared for the bumper crops of 2013 and 2015.

He is telling the railways to be ready for this years crop because fields are looking good right now.

Hall is worried about the railways being ready for a bumper crop, noting the railways have been leasing equipment to U.S. railways and laying off workers.
