FLORESVILLE — A Beef Quality Assurance Training will be held Sept. 3 at the Floresville Event Center, 600 State Highway 97 W. in Floresville.

The free training, part of the Texas Beef Quality Producer Program, will be from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. It is presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and the Beef Checkoff Program.

“The program covers proper management techniques to ensure the beef you produce is a safe and wholesome product,” said Bryan Davis, AgriLife Extension agent for Wilson County. “We would like to thank Boehringer Ingelheim for being our premier sponsor for this training.”

Topics will include beef quality assurance, industry updates, record keeping, environmental stewardship and proper management practices associated with genetic selection, cattle handling, culling and vaccination.

A free beef lunch will be served and an RSVP is requested to ensure space and an accurate meal count.
