Farm Entrepreneurs Can Win Funding for Ag Innovations

Applications are officially open for the 2026 Ag Innovation Challenge, a national business competition created to support innovation in agriculture.

Organised by American Farm Bureau and partners, the contest encourages ag-based entrepreneurs to present creative ideas that solve real problems faced by farmers and ranchers.

The Ag Innovation Challenge focuses on startups and small businesses that aim to improve life in farm country. It welcomes entries from every area of agriculture, whether they’re working on crop production, animal care, food safety, climate-smart tech, or machinery innovation.

The competition is not only a platform to showcase ideas but also provides valuable funding. The top prize for the winning team is $100,000 in non-diluted funding. The runner-up will receive $25,000, and two other finalists will be awarded $10,000 each.

Past winners of the challenge have seen significant success. One previous winner, Grain Weevil, developed a robot for grain bin safety and is now launching its product across the country.

Another winner, SwineTech, built a piglet crushing-prevention product and has since raised millions and secured multiple patents.
