Application Deadline for Producers Interested in Soil Carbon Amendments (336)

Jun 12, 2025

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is now accepting applications for producers who are interested in applying Practice Code 336 (Soil Amendment) under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).  Applications are accepted on a continuous basis, however, NRCS establishes application "cut-off" or submission deadline dates for evaluation, ranking and approval of eligible applications. To be considered for current available funding, applicants should have their applications in to their local field office by Jun 20, 2025.

EQIP provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits such as improved water and air quality, conserved ground and surface water, reduced soil erosion, sedimentation or improved or created wildlife habitats, and address soil health. Soil Carbon Amendment is a new practice being offered under EQIP.

Soil Carbon Amendments are derived from plant materials or treated animal byproducts used to improve or maintain soil organic matter, improve soil aggregate stability and improve habitat for soil organisms.
