APAS introduces partnership with FarmLead

An on-line grain marketplace called FarmLead has announced a charitable partnership with APAS.

FarmLead president Brennan Turner says the APAS youth mentor-ship and leadership program is very beneficial to the future of agriculture.

“We think APAS is an awesome organization and their youth mentor-ship and leadership program that they’ve started up is a great initiative,” Turner says. “Knowing that the farmers of tomorrow also have to become the leaders of tomorrow in the agricultural industry for both policy and just development of the industry in general.”

Turner says his company enables farmers to post their grain for sale on-line to over 500 accredited buyers.

“We have almost 8,000 farms on the farming market place compared to about 4,000 back in June,” Turner says. “We’re helping farmers find an average of about 5-6% more for their grain, and in today’s grain prices, that 5-6% is a pretty big deal.”
