Alfalfa Crop Update

The Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association (MFGA) has 23 fields in its Green Gold Program this year.

Coordinator Terra Bergen gave us an update on the alfalfa crop.

"The crop is looking pretty good, so far, depending on the area. Some areas are looking better than others but overall it looks pretty good."

She was asked about frost damage.

"Nothing too major, it rebounded pretty good."

Bergen says the alfalfa is ranging anywhere from seven to thirteen inches in height.

She adds more rain is needed in some areas.
