A six-minute video released in March 2014 that highlights and promotes Nebraska’s agriculture, farmers and ranchers received a Golden Arc award at The Agricultural Relations Council’s professional development meeting which took place in Denver, Colorado in June.

“I want to thank the farmers and ranchers who contributed their time to be a part of the ‘Nebraska Agriculture’ video,” NDA Director Greg Ibach said. “They, along with our production partners, should be proud that the story of our state’s number one industry received such a prestigious award.”

The video, entitled “Nebraska Agriculture”, was produced by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, David & Associates and the Institute of Agriculture and National Resources Media at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The video also has more than 18,000 views on YouTube.

“This is where abundant food production is a given,” says the video’s narrator. “This is where agriculture happens. This is Nebraska.”

The video highlights the farmers and families who make up the agricultural community, the new technologies that are implemented and agriculture’s role in the state’s success.

“One in three jobs in Nebraska is connected to agriculture,” the video says.

With the world’s population and need for food growing, Nebraska is ready to face the challenges head on.

“When you’re looking for that leader, look toward the cutting edge of the frontier. Look to where what’s next in agriculture is happening right now.”
