The USDA crop process report released late Monday July 31 finds U.S. corn crops now classified as poor to very poor with less than a quarter of the crop rated between good to excellent. The report finds that corn crop pegged as 24 per cent down, which is two per cent down from last week. Comparatively to this time last year, the corn crop is 48 points behind. The report’s findings show that almost half of the corn crop - 48 per cent is now falls under poor to very poor. A similar story can be told about U.S. soybean crop, with the report stating that 37 per cent of soybeans are now rated poor to very poor. Looking to pasture fields, only 17 per cent of pastures are now classified as good to excellent with 57 per cent of pastures rated poor to very poor.
