Advanced John Deere Tools to Boost Sugarcane Farming Efforts

U.S. Sugar has formed a strategic alliance with Everglades Equipment Group to use John Deere’s latest agricultural technology. This initiative supports their long-term goal of sustainable sugarcane production across Florida.

Covering over 255,000 acres, U.S. Sugar is implementing tools like JDLink for machine connectivity and performance tracking, Work Plans for automated task setup, and Efficiency Manager to reduce fuel usage. Fertilizer application has also been improved using section control by row, ensuring minimal waste.

Using T3rra Cutta landforming software, drones now help survey and manage field elevation, improving water retention and crop outcomes.

Sugarcane harvesters are also equipped with advanced features like Smart Clean, Floating Crop Dividers, and auto Field Cruise for optimized harvesting.

Everglades Equipment Group has been working with Florida farmers since 1963 and is playing a key role in scaling this tech. The companies are also exploring future innovation through an Autonomous Tractor Solution in the research phase.
