State Police arrest salesman in $750,000 fraudulent scheme targeting farmers
The Indiana State Police arrested 43-year-old Dustin J. Echelbarger from Greentown, Indiana, for his involvement in a widespread fraudulent scheme.
The investigation, which began in October 2024, revealed that Echelbarger, while employed as a salesman at a farm equipment store, was involved in fraudulent practices including the creation of fake purchase orders and obtaining loans under false pretenses.
Echelbarger allegedly exploited his position to forge documents and trade farm equipment, resulting in the loss of over $750,000 from local farmers.
The charges against him include Corrupt Business Influence, Fraud, and Forgery, among other criminal offenses. He was arrested following the investigation and remains incarcerated at the Grant County Jail.
