Producers who wish to help can email AGFieldman@countygp.ab.ca with their name, contact details, and a brief description of the type and amount of feed they can offer. The County will then pass this information along to affected farmers.
It is important to note that the County will not be involved in the actual transactions. This program is designed as a peer-to-peer effort to keep things simple and transparent.
The wildfires also highlight the importance of registering livestock and equipment in the County’s Emergency Response Plan. This ensures the County can better understand what support is needed during future emergencies. Registration details are used only in emergencies to help those directly affected.
