A contest is looking for farmers who are proud of their tractors.

Shell Rotella is holding its second annual SuperTractors Competition leading up to National Farmers Day on Oct. 12.

“It’s a competition to celebrate farmers and their awesome equipment,” Annie Peter, North American brand manager for Shell Rotella, told Farms.com. “It’s essentially a tractor beauty contest.”

Until Sept. 29, farmers in Canada (except Quebec) and the U.S. are encouraged to upload a photo, information and stories about their tractor.

Then, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 11, the public can vote on their favorite tractor once per day.

Contest organizers could’ve chosen any piece of farm equipment to celebrate, but tractors are special, Peter said.

“It’s a very versatile piece of equipment whether it’s on its own or has an attachment on it,” she said. “It’s part of the foundation of farming and a lot of people are proud of the tractors they have.”

The winning tractor and farmer will be announced on Oct. 12 – National Farmers Day.

Farmer Grayce, an online content creator, will announce the winner on Shell Rotella’s social media channels. And a company rep will contact the winner directly.

The winner will also receive $250 and 10,000 MyMilesMatter points, which can be redeemed for gift cards, merchandise and more.

This year marks the second SuperTractors competition.

Brian Lauer, a farmer from Wichita, Kan., won the 2021 competition with his 1958 John Deere 620 (pictured).

Shell Rotella started SuperTractors after the success of its SuperRigs competition, which highlights trucks within that community.

“SuperRigs has been a big part of the trucking community for 40 years,” Peter said. “Truckers look forward to it the stories people tell. It provided a great platform to tell trucker stories and celebrate their hard work, and we thought this might be something that would also be fun and unique in the agriculture space.”

Farmers are encouraged to follow Shell Rotella’s social media channels for update about the contest.
