SeedMaster is moving forward with a multimillion-dollar expansion in Saskatchewan.

The equipment manufacturer is investing $10 million to increase its presence in the Emerald Park community, the company announced on May 22.

“The company has acquired space which includes land and a building directly beside the current SeedMaster headquarters in Emerald Park, a community just outside Regina,” a press release says. “SeedMaster will build another 6,000 sq. ft. onto the existing 6,000 sq. ft. building to increase production capacity.”

The company expects construction to begin this summer and has set a goal of operating on the site by the end of 2024.

The new expansion will include new equipment and create jobs in the community.

“The new facility will house a new CNC steel plate cutting machine and a state-of-the-art automated painting system,” the company said. “The expansion is expected to make room for 20-25 employees once the space is completed.”

SeedMaster also expanded production last year.

In March 2023, it received a $602,500 loan from the PrairiesCan Business Scale-Up Program to expand production and packaging capacities.
