Apply for scholarships in agriculture by March 2025
The USDA is now accepting applications for the 2025 cohort of its 1890 National Scholars Program.
Open to high school seniors, college sophomores, and juniors, the program offers scholarships to students pursuing degrees in agriculture, food sciences, and natural resources at 1890 land-grant universities. Applications close on March 1, 2025.
Lisa Ramirez, Director of USDA’s Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement, highlighted the program’s significance - “The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program enhances career opportunities for students at 1890 land-grant universities.”
Recipients of the scholarship benefit from full tuition, fees, books, and room and board. They also gain valuable work experience through USDA summer internships and may transition to permanent roles with the department after graduation.
