R-Way Ag Ltd. receives primary elevator license from CGC

The company is located in St. Claude, Man.

The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) issued a primary elevator license to a Manitoba company.

On May 20, R-Way Ag Ltd. in St. Claude, Man., received the license.

This type of license goes to “an operator of an elevator which primary receives grain directly from producers, for either both storage or forwarding,” the CGC says.

R-Way Ag’s website describes the company as “a full service agricultural business that handles farm supplies, equipment, seed, feed, chemical, fertilizer and commodities.”

The company buys striped sunflowers, safflower, black oil sunflowers, canary seed, red millet, red milo, white millet, and white milo.

And R-Way has multiple production contracts available.

The company is seeking farmers growing black oil sunflowers, white millet, red millet, amber millet, or fall rye, according to its website.

Other available services listed on the company’s site include rolling and packaging, seed treating, floating and spraying, and financing.

R-Way’s is the third license the CGC issued in May.

One went to TA Foods Ltd. in Yorkton, Sask. And SG Ceresco Inc. in Saint-Urbain-Premier, Que., received the other.

Two licenses also expired in May.

On May 5, Richardson Pioneer’s Vulcan 2 elevator in Alberta had a license change.

“Primary elevator license no longer held,” the CGC’s website says.

And on May 8, Prairie Group Exports in Lestock, Sask., underwent its own license change.

“Grain dealer license no longer held,” according to the CGC.
